Evening and weekend appointments can be accessed via GP+ a service delivered by Nottingham City GP Alliance on Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham City.
Please ask at Reception for details and to access an appointment
On weekdays, when we are closed, between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.00am, weekend days and nights, and on Bank Holidays, services are commissioned by NHS Nottingham City and your healthcare needs are covered by the out of hours medical services.
Outside normal surgery hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) emergency cover for the practice is provided by NEMS Community Benefit Services Ltd Out of Hours service. The Out of Hours service provides medical care for patients that do not need Emergency Department Care. It is a service that is led by a range of clinical staff such as GPs, Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Emergency care Practitioners.
This service is for problems which cannot wait until the next available surgery. You will be required to provide full information about your problem and will be expected if required to attend Platform One Practice (based on Station Street, Nottingham) if necessary. Advice may also be given if attending for a face to face appointment is not deemed to be required.
During out of hours you should telephone the practice and instructions will be provided on how to contact NEMS.
For other general medical advice you can always contact the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it is not a life threatening situation.
If you require health information or advice, you may phone:
NHS 111 Service
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
NHS Urgent Care Centre - Nottingham
Open between 07:00 and 21:00
Tel: 0115 8838500
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
If you or your family need urgent medical care when the surgery is closed please phone 111. Your needs will be assessed and you will either be given advice or arrangements will be made for you to be seen by a healthcare professional.
There are also a number of walk-in centres available.
Your local pharmacy can also offer you advice and treatment if required for a range of minor ailments. Under the Pharmacy First scheme, if you are exempt from prescription charges, you will be able to get the same medicines the G.P. would have prescribed free of charge for head lice, temperature/fever, sore throat, ear ache, teething pain and pain relief for toothache. To access this service go to your local ‘Pharmacy First’ pharmacist.
An A&E Department deals with Life Threatening conditions:
The centre will offer assessment and treatment for health conditions that are urgent but non-life threatening such as:
